All measurements are in end-diastole* in the RV-focused A4C view (not the standard A4C view)
RVD3 - RV Longitudinal Diameter
Measured from the tricuspid annulus to the RV apex
RVD2 - RV Mid Diameter
Measured at the level of the LV papillary muscles
Perpendicular to the RVD3
RVD1 - RV Basal Diameter
Measured at the widest transverse diameter of the basal third of the RV
RV-Focused A4C View
Obtain this by moving laterally and angling medially while keeping the LV apex centred to maximise RV size
*End-Diastole
Measured just before mitral valve closure — usually the frame with the largest LV cavity or at the start of the QRS/R-wave on ECG
